Tired.

Still not well.

Still haven't seen a great deal of news out of Florida. I just avoid the news these days, by and large. We have acciunted for friends. Here, it was sunny, with a high of 82F.

Today was a gorgeous Alabama spring day, sunny with a high of 82F.

This afternoon we were able to see Denis Villeneuve's Dune (Part Two) at the McWane iMax free of charge. And so while I had serious doubts about trying to watch an actual film on iMax, nothing to lose. Kathryn and I agree that the results are mixed. At times, it was fucking ( Read more... )

So...this historic weather mess of the last two days, we now have this cold front steaming towards Birmingham. When I got up at 7 a.m., we were at 67F. By 11 a.m., we were at 71F. And now we are at 54F and still plummetting towards a nightly low of 34F, then back up into the 50sF tomorrow. Temperatures will have rebounded by the weekend, but this ( Read more... )

We're under a tornado watch. The high today was 73˚F, which is the current temperature, with rain and heavy wind.

Cold today. After yesterday's high of 66˚F, our high today was only 39˚F early this morning, with the temperature dropping all day. Currently, it's 32˚F, with the windchill at 23˚F. Sunny today and warmer. We made it to 66˚F, and it is currently, at twilight, 55˚F.

No work today. Broken fucking record, I know.

I finished reading Children of Dune (1976), and my afternoon movie was Daniel Espinosa's Child 44 (2015). More and more, I simply adore Tom Hardy.

Eh. Weather. Yeah. Cooler today. We only reached 68˚F, but it'll be in the seventies again tomorrow. We had some sun. Sun is good.

No writing. I spent most of the day reading.

Today would have been Elizabeth's 51st birthday. Frankly, I'm glad she was spared living long enough to see what has become of the world.

Sunny and chilly today. After an overnight low of 31˚F, we made it to 61˚F. It is currently 58˚F. But warmer weather is on the way.

I finished Dune Messiah today and began Richard Adams Shardik. I was six years old when Dune Messiah was published, and I was ten when Shardik hit the stands. A whole 'nother age ago.
